Emmerick (he/him/his) has always been invested in providing an inclusive space for people to grow together. While pursuing a career as a music educator, he continues to be involved with Vietnamese student organizations, holding and having held directorship positions at both local and international levels. This allowed him to develop a deeper understanding of the social and political complexities within the Vietnamese community. His life experiences as a queer Vietnamese-American compelled him to focus his educational framework through a culturally responsive lense with a community-oriented framework. As he wraps up his teaching credential program, Emmerick hopes that his future classroom will be one where students can learn important life skills through the power of modern music curriculum.
